As chief legal counsel, Frank Tauches is responsible for all legal issues that affect the firm including contract, litigation, arbitrations and regulatory requirements. He is also responsible for the review of structured products and alternative investments, and uses his vast experience in government and investment banking to expand the product lines of the firm and its relationships with municipalities. Additionally, he represents the firm at industry organizations such as FSI and the Financial Planning Association. Tauches first entered the securities industry in 1974 as an enforcement attorney with the New York Stock Exchange and subsequently spent 10 years with Merrill Lynch as an attorney and branch manager.
In addition to his securities experience, Tauches has served as chairman of the Water Authority of Western Nassau County, a public benefit corporation, since August 1995. From April 1997 through March 1999, Tauches served as mayor of the Incorporated Village of Garden City, N.Y. He also served as an active duty captain in the United States Marine Corps from 1971 through 1974, and again as a colonel in conjunction with Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm from December 1990 to July 1991; he was elected president of the Marine Corps Reserve Officers Association in 1993.
Tauches holds a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University and a JD degree from St. Johns University School of Law.
